Sydney University will travel up to Bond University on the Gold Coast for round two of the Aon Uni 7s tournament with three new players on their books as they look to improve on their third-placed finish in the opening round.

An injury to Emma Wade and the unavailability of Australian 7s players Jakiya Whitfeld and Shannon Parry has forced head coach Manuel Posadas to call in Claudia McLaren, Barbara Waddell and English 7s international Tilly Vaughan-Flower, who is returning from injury.

This week, Posadas confirmed the 12 players set to travel for round one of the series:

  1. Olivia White
  2. Grace Hamilton
  3. Piper Duck
  4. Emily Chancellor
  5. Freya Clayhills
  6. Nina Vistisen
  7. Lauren Murty
  8. Matilda Vaughan-Fowler
  9. Andie Robinson
  10. Claudia McLaren
  11. Jemima McCalman
  12. Barbara Waddell

University of Sydney will face University of Melbourne on Saturday 28th September at 10am, followed by University of Canberra at 11.40am, then University of Western Australia at 1.40pm, before finishing off with round one grand finalists UTS at 4pm in a jam-packed day.

The following day they will enjoy some hard-earned rest and hopefully be fresh for another semi-finals showing as their opponents battle it out for one last pool game in the morning.
