Men's Cricket Club - Sydney Uni Cricket Club
The Sydney Uni Cricket Club is the oldest sporting club at the University. The Men's Cricket club has eight teams that compete in the Sydney Grade Competition, that caters for the elite through to the social player.
Women's Cricket Club - Universities Cricket Club
Universities Women’s Cricket Club is supported by Sydney University and UNSW.
Training is Wednesdays at UNSW Campuses and Home games are played at Sydney University campuses. The season usually starts early October and plays through to end of March – having time off for Christmas.
We currently have 5 teams playing in Sydney Women’s Grade Cricket Association, 1st and 2nd grade and Brewer Shield (13-U17) play Sundays on turf pitches. Mixed formats – Limited Overs and T20s.
3rd grade we have 2 teams – Blue and Gold. This is social cricket and for those players who would like to give cricket a try, or play socially. It is played Saturdays on synthetic pitches around Sydney.
UWCC has qualified coaches (a Director of Coaching and a Senior Coach) who coach at training and attend game day matches.
UWCC boasts international, NSW Breakers and WBBL players – Alex Blackwell (Aust VC, NSW Breakers Capt, and Thunder Capt), Rachel Haynes (Aust, NSW Breakers and Thunder) Quanita Jail (Pakistan International) , Maisy Gibson (NSW Breakers Thunder and Aust Shooting Stars Squad) and Georgia Redmayne (Hobart Hurricanes and Tasmanian Roar). M, Kate Owen (recent NSW and ACT player )
The Brewer Shield Team have won the last 3 seasons T20 and Limited Overs Competition
UWCC has won Club Championships for the last 2 seasons 2014_15 and 2015_16, which demonstrates the depth of players we have across the 5 teams.
